A NORTHWICH man who harassed and hurled homophobic abuse at a woman has been hauled back to jail for breaching his restraining order.
Jonathan Edwards, of Manchester Road, had been handed a six-week jail term last August after pleading guilty to the offences.
As part of his punishment, he was handed a one-year restraining order banning him from contacting the woman or entering a specified address in Winsford.
The 55-year-old breached this order within three months of it being imposed and breached it again on March 30, this time by attending the address he was banned from.
Edwards appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on April 1 where he pleaded guilty to the latest breach.
Taking his plea into account, the bench jailed Edwards for 20 weeks, citing his 'flagrant disregard' for court orders as one of the reasons for custody.
No order for costs was made as the defendant was handed a custodial sentence.
