A NORTHWICH man has been hit with a three-year road ban and a court bill of more than £1,000 after drink-driving on the A556.
Steven Holehouse, of Spring Meadow, appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on March 25 for sentencing after being found guilty of the offence.
The 38-year-old was caught while driving a Volkswagen Golf along the the A556 Chester Road on June 8 last year.
A blood test revealed Holehouse had 49 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath, exceeding the legal limit of 35.
Holehouse had denied drink-driving but was convicted at a hearing in Crewe on March 18.
Magistrates disqualified him from driving for 36 months, but this can be reduced by 36 weeks should he complete a rehabilitation course by May 15, 2026.
The bench also fined him £830 and ordered him to pay a further £200 to the Crown Prosecution Service, as well as a £332 surcharge.
